ROGERS BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: WEST ALLIS
For adults suffering from substance abuse and depression, Rogers replaced the offices at their West Allis branch with (2) 14 bed units, focusing on biophilic design. The hospital is in an urban area, so it was crucial to make the interior a place of serenity. The concept “Urban Zen Garden” guided design decisions from the patient-tended plant wall to the Japanese Garden inspired textiles. The group room is flanked by two phone booth inspired reading nooks, places of refuge for patients.
