234 WEST FLORIDA BUILDING

Originally the Gem Hammock & Fly Netting Company, then the Allen D. Everitt Knitting Company until 2004 when the building was left vacant. It was acquired by the current owner in 2008. The design objective was to convert the seven-story abandoned factory into a sustainable, innovative office building that would attract and retain corporate tenants while leaving a small ecological footprint. The building has received a WGBA SE2 (Sustainability and Energy Efficiency) Special Citation award.
